Notre Dame du Chateau
Marseille is surrounded by a rim of mountains that in the past help protect it from inland attacks. One point that is recommended for a panoramic view over the city of Marseille is a visit to the village of Allauch that sit almost in the middle of the demi circle of mountains, then a short but steep climb up to Notre Dame du Chateau. The view on a clear day is impressive.
